September 10:

I should start by mentioning it is FANTASTIC how even with a shortened show they spent 5 minutes showing the intros to a match they only plan to air 2 minutes of. Decisions like those make me know I'm watching a Lucha Libre TV product.:)

Lady Apache/India Sioux/Princesa Blanca vs La Amapola/La Nazi/Rosa Negra: Apache and Amapola had a nice exchange to start. Blanca then entered wearing Felino's outfit minus the mask although maybe she should consider the mask... *ahem*... anyways... should we assume they are a couple? Kid Tiger must be so proud of his dad... *ahem*... I'm just wasting time b/c there is nothing else to write about as they go to commercial and we see nothing else from this FIVE STAR MATCH!

Felino/Sagrado/Satanico vs Alex Koslov/Eclipse/Olimpico: Same match that aired on Galavision Mexico two weeks ago. BOO! Nothing really noteworthy. Koslov looked a little lost at times unlike his previous TV appearence which was gold. Olimpico in pink was hilarious on so many levels. Eclipse continues to look good in the ring and with time he could become quite the force in CMLL. I wonder what brought on the sudden rushed gimmick change and push? Setting him up for Mistico maybe? Rudos win clean.

Shortened and uneventful episode.

September 17:

Once again... intros shown even though match gets cut. GENIUSES!

Stuka Jr./Tigre Blanco/Tigre Metalico vs Arkangel/Hooligan/Loco Max: Cubs will be happy to know the rudos were introduced as "La Pandilla Guerrera". THEY'RE ALIVE! AND HOOLIGAN IS IN IT! I should also note Hooligan was wearing an awesome mostly black outfit that makes him look 1000% evil. I fear he will waste the rest of his career working pointless undercard matches at Arena Coliseo.:( This match was criminally short and edited to boot. After a medium length Stuka Jr./Arkangel exhange, Blanco threw Hooligan around after blowing the first spot and nailed his somersault into a headscissors spot. The other two rudos got put away immediatly. Is it only me or does anyone else have a problem with a fall ending after ONE EXCHANGE? Why would Loco Max submit if he was 100% fresh and hadn't tagged in yet? If you ever want to question the psychology of Lucha Libre - question that! Second fall has a Tigre Metalico/Arkangel exchange which leads right into Hooligan beating down all the tecnicos and the rudos winning the fall in seconds. That is all we get to see.:( Opening show clips revealed a third fall tope suicida from Tigre Blanco on Loco Max. Maybe they should start running Lightning Matches on these shows and just using them to open every episode so they can't be edited down?

Negro Casas/Heavy Metal/Satanico vs Olimpico/El Averno/El Mephisto: Only 2nd and 3rd falls shown. Nothing special in either. I nearly lost it when Heavy Metal screwed up running the ropes. *LMAO* DAY 2 OF WRESTLING SCHOOL YOU FUCKING IDIOT! I'm sorry, but I despise Heavy Metal. He and Lizmark Jr. are the biggest current embarassments to Lucha Libre. Purple Mutated Turtle needs to fuck them up! Satanico did a senton off the apron onto Averno after almost colliding with Casas by accident. ~VETERANS! Casas went for the Casita but Averno counted and cleanly pinned him setting up a title match which I'll review in two weeks.:)

It was great to see Hooligan's outfit. Easily the highlight of the show. HEY FOX SPORTS - STOP EDITING THE SHOWS EVERY WEEK! Or at least be smart and edit out boring interviews and intros to leave in more wrestling. Pretty please and thank you.

Tomorrow I will have virtual orgasms over the AULL I'm watching. You have all been warned.

IWRG 6/29/06:

This will forever be known as the day the IWRG forgot to turn on the lights. Did nobody notice the entire arena was completely dark????????

Antaris & Misterio Verde vs Bacteria & Vampiro Metalico: Ah, the return of the ever mysterious luchador/U.S. indy wrestler - Vampiro Metalico! Is he an American trying to wrestle in Mexico or a luchador who rooms with Joe Lider? Sadly that question was not answered during this match. This was a really good tag match with the tecnicos looking great and making me wish they were the ones in the Arena Naucalpan openers instead of bums like Halcon Salvaje, Ave Fenix and random guy we won't see after 3 weeks #4. Rudos played their part really well and bumped like freaks. Vampiro Metalico tossed in his usual U.S. indy-esque moves which included a top-rope double stomp as Antaris was hanging over the top rope, the Lo-Ki corner double stomp and various other things. The ending was really good with multiple pinfalls. Solid way to open up the show.

Panterita/Hombre Arana/Super Yens vs Carta Brava Jr./Kaleth/Galardon De Plata: Welcome to the pro wrestling business... Vertigo gets to wrestle at Arena Naucalpan and now WFS guys invade IWRG undercards. Hombre Arana is... yes... Spiderman! Galardon De Plata is a sorta fat guy in black and silver(naturally...) who seems to have way too much hair under that mask. Arana and Panterita looked fantastic when the tecnicos were on offense. Glad to finally have a match where Panterita could go all out like we all know he can. The rudos held up their part and bumped well plus weren't too boring on offense. In the third fall Yens did a tope suicida and Panterita followed with a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE asai moonsault almost crashing into the Arena Neza seats!!! Unfortunately Arana lost the match for his team so Spiderman ISN'T invincible! Good match.

And now comes the part where you realize Arena Neza has great undercards but nobody tries in the top matches...

Fabian El Gitano/Marco Rivera/Star Boy vs Black Terry/Dr. Cerebro/Cerebro Negro: *big fucking yawn* Total brawl with just about NOTHING to speak of. Rivera did a tope suicida, all the tecnicos blew a bunch of simple spots and the rudos were just clowning around. 100% fast forward material unless your name is Carlos Elizondo.

Mr. Aguila/Damian 666/Enfermero Jr. vs Pierroth/El Hijo Del Pierroth/Gran Markus Jr.(not THE Gran Markus Jr.): This match confused me. I was excited at first b/c Fredo's listings said "Pierroth Jr." so I assumed the current one - i.e. Mosco/X-Fly. I was gonna enjoy seeing Mr. Aguila/Mosco reunited. Unfortunately it turned out to be THE Pierroth, aka Norberto Salgado.:( Then I didn't understand why regular partners Enfermero Jr. and Markus Jr., who by the way look exactly alike and were had to differentiate, were on opposing sides. I had lots of time to try and piece things together as these guys all brawled for what seemed like FOREVER. It only turned into a regular match during the last two minutes when Aguila did a flip or two, Salsero did a somersault plancha off the apron and the rudos cheated to win. The few fans left in the building seemed to care less about what was going on aside from 5 guys in the front row wearing Perros Del Maaal t-shirts.

Show started good and then dragged badly. Maybe they should air the first two matches from Neza and then the top two matches from Naucalpan every week. Sounds good, doesn't it?

I should also mention I saw stage 2 of 'Luchando por un Sueno' and it was WAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the first stage. The longer matches helped but so did the surprise performances by Policeman and Pesadilla. The latter of which carried Nemesis to his best performance in AAA rings thus far. Cometa and Policeman had a brilliant little match which accomplished the goal of making Cometa look like he was a shoe-in to win the tournament. Pegasso/Apache couldn't hold a candle to the first two matches and suffered from an early edit but the story of Pegasso trying to use his flying to beat Apache was REALLY good. They had a nice little finish as well. My only(seriously, ONLY!) complaint about the three matches was two of them had the one-man Spanish Fly spot. And it was in back-to-back matches. Was that really neccessary? The third match even had an armdrag off the top which is kinda like the Spanish Fly except without the flip being done. Bit of overkill if you ask me. I heard the semi-finals were KILLER, especially the Cometa/Apache match so I can't wait to see them.
